Please find below the load shedding schedule / guide [4 hours DAILY rotating brownouts] within the CEPALCO service area for the period June 13 to 21, 2010 due to the continuing power supply curtailments imposed by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines [NGCP] all over Mindanao. Again, CEPALCO would like to caution customers that the actual switch off and switch on time may vary from the announced schedule depending on the actual load curtailment levels imposed by NGCP on CEPALCO on a day to day basis.

Philippine Independence has been Cancelled

Another long weekend this June which mark as Independence Day, 12th of June, has moved to June 14 (Monday).

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Philippine Independence Day Ball scheduled for June 13 and a gathering of the Filipino community on June 20, to celebrate the 112" anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence has been cancelled, according to an announcement by the Philippine Embassy yesterday.

"In consideration with the Brunei government's prohibition on all forms of live entertainment during the Islamic month of Rejab, the Philippine Embassy has regretfully cancelled all cultural performances" the Embassy added. The Ministry of Home Affairs in a letter to the Philippine Embassy said "No entertainment should take place during the month of Rejab (June 14 - July 12), Syaaban (July 13 - August 10), Ramadhan (August 11 - September 9) as well as the one week of Syawal (September 10 - September 17). Rejab comes into effect on June 12 at 6pm, the Philippine Embassy was told.

To mark the 112th anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence on Saturday, June 12, a flag hoisting ceremony will be held at the premises of the Philippine Embassy, situated at No 17, Spg 126, Km 2, Jalan Tutong. The Philippine Ambassador to Brunei, Alexander B Yano, will be joined by overseas Filipino workers from across the country during the flag raising ceremony which is scheduled to commence at 7am.

Embassy officials will read the Philippine Independence Day messages of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Foreign Secretary Alberto G Romulo and Labour and Employment Secretary Marianito D Roque. Ambassador Yano will also deliver his Independence Day message, followed by a brief prayer for the nation. At 7pm, Bishop Fernando Capalla, will deliver a talk entitled "Bishops-Ulame Conference and Interfaith Dialogue: Philippine Experience" at the Philippine Embassy's Chancery.

Additionally, there will be an Independence Day thanksgiving mass on the morning of June 13, at the Church of Our Lady of Assumption, in the capital, which also coincides with the birthday of Ambassador Yano. The ambassador and his wife Estela, will hold a reception for the diplomatic community on June 16, at the International Convention Centre.
