The search was done last Tuesday (August 25, 09) in Limketkai Atrium. It is one of the much awaited events here in Cagayan de Oro.

Our former president Cory passed away last Saturday (August 1, 2009) at 3:18 am of Cardio Respiratory Arrest.

“In Cagayan de Oro City, militant leaders of left-leaning organizations, church leaders and local politicians joined the rest of the nation in expressing grief of the passing of what one activist-solon called “icon of struggle for democracy.”
In a text message sent to Sun.Star, Fr. Rey Monsanto, Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro (Acdo), said that at least Aquino would now be free from the pain she had been feeling for at least a year now.
“Of course, (we are) sad to see the passing away of an icon. We sympathize with (the Aquino) family. But (we are) thankful she has been relieved of the pains with (the) belief that she is now rewarded for her good life and work. May she eternally rest in peace,” Monsanto’s message read.
City Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya also expressed bereavement over the death of Aquino and reiterated the legacy the ex-president left all Filipinos. “
